Cut The Crap-It’s Because Obama’s Black

Comments

Isn’t all of this stupid bull-shit about Obama simply because of the fact that he is black?
No, but painting it as an issue of race is certainly a good tactic for deflecting criticism. If you want to see a white person squirm, bring up the subject of race.

We are unable to criticize Obama's judgment and his character because, as the debate is currently framed, to do so is to question his identity. His identity also happens to include his blackness, so to criticize his judgment is to implicitly criticize him for his race.
Identity politics is the problem, not racism. The distinction needs to be made between character and identity, because we can judge character.
So it's about Wright, and it's about Ayers, and anything else. Because it's not about race, it's about whether this man will be a good leader and will exercise good judgment. Signs point to no.
[this is good]

It's not about rather or not Barack Obama will be a good leader, because he is an untested commodity, we really don't know.

He has not had the chance to proove himself as a good leader, and the reason that many are tyring to not give him an opportunity to proove himself, is because, to many White Americans, the thought of a black person, (who not too long ago was considered less then equal to an ape), in the White House as President, is more of a terrifying thought then the end of the world.

As a matter of fact, the Clinton Campaign initiated a smear campaign to equate the election of Barack Obama as President, to the end of the world, until she got caught at it.

There are many white leaders with flaws, and off beat opinions and ideas that are not mainstream, who also have, and have had, negative associations with controversial people, who have been embraced by White America with open arms to be leaders, and some, because of their progressive ideas, have become great leader.

However, if we examine the differences between them and Obama, the only variable that has changed is that this is a black man running for president.

Therefore, it is not an issue of character, it is an issue of race. Obama has the apparent potential to make changes in government for the better for the people.

Hillary Clinton is a compulsive liar, and the only people who could not see this are those who are blinded by the desire to keep the White House white, rather or not someone else with a new and different viewpoint may be effective at bringing together all kinds of people, in unison, to finally solve some problems that are poltical, racial in nature, and the matters of the heart, (like racisim), that cannot be legislated

There are just qutie a few white people in America who will never want to see a black person as President of the United States. They will always find a reason why any black individual should not be:eg. "He does not have enough experience", "This country is not ready for a black president", "Those people do not have it in their DNA to have such an important job", etc. etc, etc.

However, all of those questions have been posed about white candidates too, but for some reason, they seemed to not matter.

Why?

Because they were White!

I say, we have seen the power of this man to unite people. And, believe it or not, the problems that we are facing today cannot be solved by any one race of people. Since these issues effect us all, then it must follow that we all have to unite to correct them.

Obama has brought together people of all races, income levels, educational levels, with different poltical, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.

This is someone who will be a good leader.

He has done brought together all kinds of people who want to move our country in a postive direction; and that makes him the best candidate out of a very limited list.

So, while all of these different people are united as one, I say let's keep the momentum going by electing Barack Obama, (A Qualified Man, Who Happens To Be Black), to be President of the United States of America.

The last time that I have seen this much unity in the community, was when the terriost attacked us on 9/11.

Are we going to have to wait until the next human disaster to occur before we unite like that again>

I HOPE NOT!

You lump all of "White America" into one category and then complain about the same thing happening to blacks. Bit of dissonance there.
The point I'm making is that Obama's character is not being evaluated. We know he does not have the experience to be President. Neither does Hillary Clinton.
What we don't know is what Obama's deeply held beliefs about America happen to be. Does he love the country he plans to lead, or is he like many people in his demographic (leftists, academics), critical of America to the point of spite?
Empty, empty, empty rhetoric about hope and change don't answer any of the questions America has for Barack Obama. Exploring his relationships with men who advocate the destruction of the United States (Ayers) or black supremacy (Wright, as influenced by James H. Cone) will answer the question of whether Obama is committed to America or some idiotic notion of Utopia. His race isn't a factor until liberals make it so.
well said...I totally agree
